All The Data - A term referring to Illuminate's mission of storing a comprehensive data set for every student.

DnA

Data and Assessment - A part of Illuminate’s Education Intelligence Platform. Used to build assessments, access pre-built reports and analyze data quickly and easily to inform instruction.

IM

Implementation Manager - someone who communicates and trains districts on how to use and make the best of Illuminate Education. Typically former educators with vast educational knowledge bases that are able to assist developing classroom/district efficiency through the use of system. In this case Illuminate.

iReport

The previous iteration/name for Jaspersoft Studio.

ISE

Illuminate Special Education - A part of Illuminate’s Education Intelligence Platform. Enables teachers and providers to efficiently meet special education students’ needs.

ISI

Illuminate Student Information - A part of Illuminate’s Education Intelligence Platform. Captures every piece of student information to understand the whole picture.

Jasper

Short for Jaspersoft (company) or Jaspersoft Studio (software). Typically, Illuminators will use "Jasper" when referring to Jaspersoft Studio.

JasperReports Server

JasperReports Server is a stand-alone and embeddable reporting server. It provides reporting and analytics that can be embedded into a web or mobile application as well as operate as a central information hub for the enterprise by delivering mission critical information on a real-time or scheduled basis to the browser, mobile device, printer, or email inbox in a variety of file formats. JasperReports Server is optimized to share, secure, and centrally manage your Jaspersoft reports and analytic views. For our purposes, reports built in Jaspersoft Studios rely on a JasperReports Server.

JIRA

Jira is a proprietary issue tracking product, developed by Atlassian. It provides bug tracking, issue tracking, and project management functions.

KRA

Key Reponsibility Area - One of several descriptors used in evaluating stakeholder job performance.

PRD

Performance Review and Development - An annual analysis of stakeholder job performance. Usually involving several members of the stakeholders immediate team.

QA

Quality Assurance - A way of preventing mistakes or defects in manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering solutions or services to customers; which ISO 9000 defines as "part of quality management focused on providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled". This defect prevention in quality assurance differs subtly from defect detection and rejection in quality control, and has been referred to as a shift left as it focuses on quality earlier in the process. For our purposes, it is a methodology in catching bugs/issues early and during development and often and prior to the product being released to the public.

SWAT

Special Weapons and Tactics - Illuminate team that is leading the charge to rebuild the framework for ATD. Making changes to go from a monolithic system to a service oriented one where microsystems are setup per module per instance and is organized with load balancers and also made to be dyanmic (adding instances on an as-needed-basis).

Company that acquired Jaspersoft in 2014.
